Dear Friend,

I am writing to share with you the success that has been God's work in Barnwell through the Church of the Holy Apostles for the past 179 years, and to ask you to partner with us in protecting and preserving our historic buildings.

Holy Apostles began as a mission from St Michael's in Charleston in 1847, and our church building was constructed a decade later in 1857. This sanctuary has served our community well for over 150 years, but decades of wear have taken their toll. We recently replaced the roof and restored the interior and exterior woodwork. The plaster and paint on the inside were showing their age with peeling and cracking. Water had damaged both the exterior and interior. We have also restored the exterior of the Parish Hall. The work was done to preserve and protect it for the future generations of Barnwell to continue to be able to enjoy this beautiful and holy building.

For the past twenty years the church has owned the Rectory next door. (This house actually predates the sanctuary by a year!) We have recently replaced its roof, and restored the exterior, which mirrors the church.

The next project is the interior of the Parish Hall building; then the office and inside of the Rectory.
